What kind of move packages have employers offered you when you moved?

I have no idea what’s acceptable. I think moving costs are a given. But what else? I know it’s contingent on the job itself too.

  1. Data Analytics software company, non-faang, principal role.. actual moving costs up to 35k USD$ and stipend for first 3 months for housing / food / misc expenses. ( This was 3+ years ago.)
Be cautious of reimburse vs sign on bonus. One is taxable as income.

Not necessarily. They’re reasonably common, but not so much that you can assume you’ll be offered one.

  3. Job that brought me to Japan provided: visa support; flights for myself and my spouse to Japan, plus a $1000 misc moving bonus which we used for the dog’s cargo fee; door-to-door moving service including packing; shipping by boat (we had a 15,000lb allowance and used 5,000); and a housing stipend.
