Hi all,
There are obviously a bunch of YouTube videos covering the different ways to greet people. But it quickly becomes overwhelming.
I would like to know how to greet people in a polite yet non formal manner.
As if you greet a restaurant worker or shop owner, in these situations:
1) If it’s morning
2) If it’s afternoon
3) If it’s after 6 o’clock

Literally any textbook would cover this in probably the very first lesson. I’m sure you can find something with a simple google search.
Depends on the context and your relationship with that person.
Are you only using youtube to study Japanese? A textbook could really help not to feel overwhelmed to soon, e.g. IRODORI by the Japan Foundation is completely free and covers this in their first lesson
