Language School is asking for my passbook and payslip

I am currently enrolled in a language school on a student visa. And my Language school is asking for the transactions I have in my passbook and my pay slips from my companies. I feel like these things are private, and need not to be disclosed. I know that I am following my monthly limit of 28hrs per week of working hours.

Is it okay if I decline and say that these things are private?

  1. You’re here on a student visa, the school is responsible for your stay in Japan.

When renewing a visa, immigration asks for exact amounts of pay and money received from your family. If you decline/give wrong info, immigration will decline your visa renewal due to it looking like you no longer have the means to support yourself. The school also wants to check on the 28 hour limit.

(Note: This depends on your nationality, some countries have it easier, but most SE Asia , eastern European and African countries are on the “incredibly hard” paperwork list)
