There’s one game where you use the alphabet but you go from a-z. For example, Let’s say I say 荒れ and then you say募集 but I can’t think of anything that starts with the next letter. That means I’d lose. All it requires is a good base of vocabulary. Although it sounds easier said than done
In the course I started with, we had a matching game with hiragana and katakana cards to form a pair.
There is a popular game called 尻取り where you need to call out a word that starts with the last syllable of the previously mentioned word (e.g. 林檎 → 強奪 → 蔦 → 卵) with [a few extra rules](https://xn--68j8a5fb.net/%E3%83%AB%E3%83%BC%E3%83%AB/?) (to make it a bit more challenging). Mainly you want to make sure you only use nouns, never repeat words, and never use a word ending with ん (because next to no words start with it).
