Hey all,
I’ve been in Tokyo for 3 months now and haven’t had issues with allergies until the weather changed. Back in San Diego I used Flonase religiously as it’s the only medication that worked for me. I’ve tried the tablets like Claritin and whatnot but never liked the side effects. I can’t find Flonase (Fluticasone) anywhere here! Not even on iHerb which has up until now never failed me!
Is it possible to get Flonase anywhere in Japan or am I SOL?
Thanks!

This?

It’s available OTC, but classified as “guidance mandated”, so only at places where they have a pharmacist.

In Japan, they approved the use of “fluticasone propionate” in 2019. I think, prior to that, in some other parts of the world, it was “fluticasone furoate”, which wasn’t available here.
It seems GSK has a 3 year market exclusivity here, so perhaps (cheaper?) alternatives might start showing up in late 2022.
Is it that nose spray made by GlaxoSmithKline? I know for a fact that it does exist in Japan, but now it might be prescription only.
I have been going to my doctor for years and getting six month subscriptions of it. It’s far cheaper to just go to the doc and get it.
