JLPT N3

This year I’m going to try the N3 test. I’ve been studying Japanese at university and it’s already 5 years that I am into this language.
The main problem is .. I’m having a really hard time to study by myself. It feels like I don’t have a proper study method which is sad after all this time. Could you guys please recommend me a way to focus more? Everytime that I’m trying to learn by myself it feels like I’m not learning anything at all.
I’m currently using a Shin Kanzen Master for the test preparation.

Sorry in advance for my english.

  1. I dunno if I’m the best for giving advice since I feel the same way. For this reason I use lots of SRS apps, (Torii, Bunpo, and Wanikani, Anki) so at least the timing and reviewing part is taken care of for me.

I just grab the information I’m learning from the book and review it with flashcards in between textbook sessions.

  2. I tried using Kanzen Master too but I never really understood the grammar and also couldn’t remember it. What worked for me was studying grammar from tobira and nihongo no mori YouTube videos (they have an entire n3 playlist) and then reading light novels to consolidate it. You can also make Anki flashcards for grammar points you want to remember.
