Hi everyone, I come to you with a very serious matter: my best friend dad went to japan a few days ago (he’s originally Japanes but had been living in Switzerland for 40+ years) to visiti family since he hasn’t gone back for years since Covid started.
He started feeling really unwell a few hours ago, and got taken to the hospital.
There he tested positive for covid, and they sent him away: they didn’t want him to stay even overnight.
This is a 90yo man, with slightly younger but still old his wife, who can’t stand up alone, is right now so weak he’s incontinent, and his wife is not strong enough obviously to carry him around.
Is there any hotline they can call? Anything we can help them with?
The hospital SENT HIM AWAY
Please help, I’m begging you
Btw they are in Sakai

Try asking in r/japanlife. There might be a lot more people able to help in that area.
I believe calling 保健所 to consult is the way to go.
Call an ambulance. Ambulances in Japan are not a serious last resort like other countries.
The communist party has hospitals, and they took in a family friend when nobody else would.
