I am considering changing jobs and have applied for a position through a recruiting agency. Now the recruiter is asking me to submit the payslip for the previous month at my current company. I find this request rather strange and don’t feel comfortable submitting it, especially since I still don’t know if I will work there or not. Is this normal?

Why does the agent want your payslip? ask him to foff.
Share it with your future company after you clear the interviews.
And basically, if it’s not a big recruiter like Robert walters or Michael page just stay away from them.
They’re most likely looking to ram you into a lowball gig to curry favour with the company and want to see if your last salary fits the bill for that. They’re not working in your interests at all.
I can understand them asking 源泉徴収票 but still it is weird to provide that. I suggest you not provide them anything until you get the job and sign the contract.
If I am not mistaken, I hear it is normal, but please double check.
For the most part, people have asked me how much have I made at my last position but never for a payslip.
The job, the one I was applying for, would ask for it maybe, but not the recruiter.
Recruiters normally want to know your salary history when they set out looking for a new position for you.
