It was easy to use in Korea, any Global ATM spat out cash, I did not even know whether to select Credit or Checking but here, tried the 7-11 ATMs based on recommendation by Narita airport information booth staff and that did not work, tried Chiba bank ATM at Narita that showed my balance but I could not get any cash. Then I couldn’t pay for my hotel with it either. But it worked for the taxi and shopping at MyBasket (AEON mini supermarket).
What do you folks recommend? My only other options are my Canadian bank Visa card and Canadian bank debit card both which come with fairly high fees (about 4%).

Tried Japan Post ATM yet?
I have never had any issues with Japan Post and the amount you can withdraw is also lower, than ex. 7-11.
Can’t speak of their fee though.
Did you disable/enable withdrawals and other things on the site?
I had 0 troubles using wise card in tokyo other than fumbling around with the right buttons to press at the 7 eleven ATM at Haneda 3 months ago. Also had no issue tapping away with it at alot of places that accept visa touch.
