Off the beaten path places near Osaka

Hi everyone,
Next week on Monday I‘ll be going to Osaka for about two weeks, partly for work, partly for fun and I‘d like to know if you have any suggestions where to go in the Kansai region. I’m 25 years old, quite fit and just love exploring new places. I’m also a hobby photographer and will be bringing my camera with me to get some good shots. I’ve visited several times so I did most of the mainstream stuff.
Since I have to work most of the evenings, staying overnight somewhere else than the hotel i booked (located in Dotonbori) is out of question.

My current ideas are:
Day 1 Looking around in my hotels neighborhood

Day 2 Kyoto – Kifune Shrine and Kurama Temple

Day 3 Hike at Mt. Hiei

Day 4 Work

Day 5 Work

Day 6 No plans yet

Day 7 Wazuka

Day 8 No plans yet

Day 9 Hike at Mt. Ikoma

Day 10 Work

Day 11 Work

Day 12 Soni Highlands

Day 13 shopping in Osaka and back home

Since it’s all day trips I’m flexible with when I actually go.

Places I already visited include: Koyasan, Uji city, Yoshino, Ise city, Wakayama city, Amanohashidate (Ine), Iga-Ueno, Kumano-Kodo, Nara city, Kobe city, Awaji Island…
Budget is not really of concern to me so any suggestion is welcome.
I also have an international driver’s license so difficult to reach places are not really a problem.

  1. If you’re a Naruto/Shin-chan/Godzilla fan then go to Nijigen no mori which is like an hour from Kobe?
