I’m a solo traveler. Will be in Japan from Nov 13-27. Am planning on bringing a carry-on suitcase and just doing laundry (plus a foldable duffle bag as an emergency button). I’ve made all of my accommodations through Booking already.
This will be my 2nd time in the country. Last time I went to Tokyo, Kyoto, Takayama, Hakone, and Kamakura. I caught a lot of cherry blossoms last time due to a cold front, and am interested in some autumn foliage viewing this time around and filling out more pages of my goshuincho.
Am looking for a sanity / stupidity check and recommendations for stuff like food (especially desserts and shojin ryori) and other autumn foliage spots. I tried not to plan too many things as I’m definitely a “see Rilakkuma or Hello Kitty or Miffy and get distracted” kind of person.

* 🍵 **Tokyo** 🍵
* **Sun Nov 13**: Arrive at Narita, pick up my pocket wifi from the Lawson kiosk, train to Shimbashi (it seems the best train for me would be the Keisei that turns into the Asakusa line), check in to hotel, see if I can visit Artnia around evening
* **Mon Nov 14**: Sleep in, go out to lunch and Team Lab Planets with a few friends, evening domestic flight to Fukuoka, might grab something from a food stall after I check in
* 🛫 My flight is [ANA SKIP applicable](https://www.ana.co.jp/en/jp/guide/boarding-procedures/checkin/domestic/skip/) and the [domestic carry-on liquid limit is 2 liters](https://tokyo-haneda.com/en/faq/index.html), so it seems I can just go to security with a carry-on
* 🍜 **Fukuoka** 🍢
* **Tues Nov 15**: Golden Kamuy Exhibition, Hakata Genki Ippai (look for the blue bucket), Ohori Park, Gundam Base Fukuoka, food stalls?
* 🦌 **Hiroshima** 🦌
* **Wed Nov 16**: Start my Sanyo San’in pass, bullet train to Hiroshima, shove suitcase into a coin locker, head over to Miyajima
* 🚄 I did some quick napkin math and with Fukuoka to Hiroshima, Hiroshima to Osaka, the Miyajima ferry, and the local trains for Osaka <-> Kyoto, then I’ve pretty much broke even with the Sanyo Sanin pass price. I’m also thinking of taking a day trip somewhere while I’m in Osaka.
* **Thur Nov 17**: Shukkeien, Peace Park & museum area, Okonomimura
* 🚄 From my understanding it would be possible to do a half-day trip to somewhere like Okayama, but I’m not sure how long I’m gonna spend at Shukkeien and the Peace Park. Having the JR west pass increases the temptation to take random half day trips.
* 🍁 **Kyoto** 🍁
* **Fri Nov 18**: Bullet train to Shin-Osaka and then local line to Kyoto, find food, Keage Station, walk the incline down to Murinan (needs a reservation), Nanzenji, Eikando
* **Sat Nov 19**: Undecided, but I’m thinking of going to Mt. Hiei
* 🐙 **Osaka 🦀**
* I consciously decided to split lodging into “staying in Higashiyama” and “staying in Dotonbori”
* **Sun Nov 20 & Mon Nov 21**: Move over to Osaka, kinda undecided about these 2 days
* 💭 Stuff I’m possibly interested in: ~~Spending 12 hours at the Umeda Rilakkuma store~~, Eorzea Cafe, eating my way around Dotonbori, a day trip somewhere, the aquarium
* 💭 Currently, I’m thinking a half day trip over to Kobe on Sunday using the Hello Kitty train cause Kitty won’t be running on the 21st or 22nd and the observatory over Nunobiki Herb Garden is also open later on the weekends, then Monday to check out Umeda and Dotonbori
* **Tue Nov 22**: Universal Studios
* **Wed Nov 23**: Meeting up w/a friend at Minoh Park
* 🦃 **Tokyo** 🦃
* **Thur Nov 24**: Morning train back to Tokyo, visit Artnia again for part 2 of the LAL collab, meet up with friends for Thanksgiving in Japan dinner
* 🚄 I don’t see this part of my schedule changing so I bought an early bird bullet train ticket w/Smart Ex
* **Fri Nov 25 & Sat Nov 26**: Intentionally left open
* 💭 List of things I kinda mentally shortlisted: Sailor Moon Museum, Nakano Broadway, Ikebukuro, Yokohama Gundam Factory, watch Suzume no Tojimari, Pompompurin Cafe Harajuku, Koishikawa Korakuen, head spa, getting in line for lunch at Tomato European Curry at 9am…
* **Sun Nov 27**: Leave out of Narita in the afternoon
