Why does Japanese news seem to not cover topics about Iran?

Japanese national tv news covers so many nuanced/niche and global topics ranging from everyday local news about trending desserts in a specific Japanese prefecture to Ukraine. But I personally haven’t seen any news about Iran in Japan. This seems strange to me because in America, Iran is covered so heavily in the news and social media. Is there a particular reason for this or am I just watching the wrong news channels?
