Murakami Haruki: which novel should I try first?

I just recently read a passage from Shinkanzen N1 that contained an excerpt from one of his books and it was pretty readable for me. I’ve read one of his books in English in the past and found it pretty interesting albeit weird. In terms of readability, which would you recommend I start with if I wanted to read entirely in Japanese?

I’d prefer a more forgiving level of difficulty combine with interesting story, but anyone’s recommendation is welcome! I just wanna get back into the swing of reading Japanese literature.
