Difficulty in purchasing DisneySea Tickets

This seems to be discussed here and on r/TokyoDisneySea, but purchasing tickets on the main website by credit card is impossible here in California.

I was hoping that it would be a temporary glitch two weeks ago, but this may be an ongoing issue, or just a policy with American CCs.

Either way, its looking like we have two options if we want to go to DIsneySea in mid-November:

1. Hope that tickets are available on the day of our itinerary and buy tix first thing in the AM
2. Perhaps find any outlets in Tokyo that may sell tickets beforehand,

Does DIsneySea usually sell out days in advance like Ghibli? Better yet, do you have a recommendation for a store that sells advance tickets?

  1. Went I went to disneysea a few years ago I bought discounted tickets on Klook. I am not sure if they still sell tickets but worth checking!

  2. I was able to purchase tickets to both Disneyland and DisneySea on October 10th from California. (Chase card)

I used the tokyodisneyresort.jp site for roughly a month out when I bought them (I’m going 11/16 and 11/17).

I don’t think I did anything special, so hopefully you’ll be able to get it working!

    Edit:. Here’s a working link https://www.tokyodisneyresort.jp/

  3. I bought yesterday. Visa and Amex did not work for me. Called the Japanese customer service line (loaded Google Voice credit) and had an interpreter help. Told me they’d look into and get back to me. In the meantime I tried a Mastercard and it worked (actually used my debit card as I had no Mastercard credit card). They called me back 2 days later saying they unlocked security measures on my account to use foreign cards for 2 days. After that my account blocks foreign cards again. So you can either try to use a Mastercard or call in and wait for them to unlock it for you.

  4. It’s not. It’s an incredibly difficult process and has been for years. Usually a mastercard (any bank will work but it HAS to be mastercard) credit card (debit cards won’t work) will work on the site but it’s still a little hit and miss.

    Otherwise 3rd party.

Luckily Ghibli and USJ are far bloody easier.
