School Description: Neston Kids After School is located in Takamatsu, Kagawa and opened in 2017. We offer an after school program taught in an immersion style. The classes we offer are: Mommy and Me (0 to 3 years old), Kindergarten After School (4 to 6 years old), Elementary After School (7 to 12 years old), and Academy Classes (9 to 12 years old). Classes have a capacity limit of 15 students per class and all classes are taught by both a native lead teacher and a bilingual assistant.

Job Description: This job is suitable for someone who already has a few years experience teaching in either an ALT or eikawa position and has high motivation to teach students something new. Native teachers are responsible for creating their own classes and are given an average of 15 to 20 paid office hours per week to meet deadlines. Teachers on average prepare eight lesson plans a month (two classes x four weeks). Our curriculum can range from Science classes to Art classes and everything in between. Native teachers also teach the classes they have prepared averaging a total of 10 to 15 hours of class per week. Native teachers also have additional responsibilities including helping preparations for events, or helping with student free time. We are looking for applicants not only with English teaching experience, but also those with unique skill sets and hobbies. Please mention these in your cover letter.

Job Details: Shifts: 8 hours, Monday through Friday. Either 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. or 11:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Company Holidays (not including your Paid Holidays): We guarantee 120 days off per calendar year. This covers weekends and holidays throughout the year. Saturday and Sundays are off (except for events averaging between 4 to 6 times a year). These days are used to close to the school and give everyone one week off during the Christmas season.

Paid Holidays: Are in line with Japanese law. All employees start with 10 paid holidays in the first year. Holidays automatically increase annually to a maximum of 20 days after 6.5 years of employment.

Compensation: ¥260,000 to ¥300,000 (depending on experience and ability). There is a three month probationary period during which training and observations occur. Salary is reduced by ¥20,000 per month and you are not given the same deadlines as other full time native staff. This is to ensure quality standards within our school.

Company insurance (Shakaihoken: includes kenkohoken, koseinenkin, koyohoken, and rosaihoken)

Visa sponsorship.

Eligibility for shared housing which is rent free.

Requirements:

In Summary: If our school sounds like a place where you can see yourself please send us your information. Our goal for our students is to prepare them to thrive in a global setting. Each of our teachers acts as an ambassador of their native country. Teachers have a great degree of freedom in the classroom to express their personality, but we expect complete professionalism and results.

  1. The free rent and curriculum development times sound like reasonable perks. Are the paid office hours blocked off periods of time, or are you referencing whatever down time exists between lessons?

Is the 300k salary the maximum starting salary, or the maximum salary period?

    I assume no bonuses?
