I used to buy manga on amazon.co.jp to read on my Kindle, but today I started receiving a message that the requested content is not available outside Japan, and that if I had recently moved abroad I should update my account location.
Has anyone else encountered this issue? Do you use a VPN to buy from Amazon? Or do you use some other website?
Edit: as suggested in the comments, using a VPN works perfectly!

I think it’s like that only for some items or sellers. I use VPN if I encounter such an item. Protonvpn offers free VPN plans if you’re interested.
It happens every now and then. You need to use a vpn with the location set to japan. It should get you back to being able to purchase manga no problem.
Just bought 6 books yesterday. No problems. Also no VPN.
Several years ago when I tried to buy some E-books on Amazon Japan, they complained that I didn’t have a Japanese billing address. I am not sure if they still have that in place.
I sometimes buy books from Kinokuniya, which ships to the US (though I usually pick them up locally). https://usa.kinokuniya.com
About a week ago I was able to buy a regular novel on Kindle without a VPN.
For this reason, I mostly use Honto for electronic books. Sometimes I even have issues signing in to the Japanese Kindle account depending on the device.
