According to friends at the scene celebrity spotting caused the initial rush of people to one area. Absolutely shocking
This is just tragic and senseless.
Korea should have hired the DJ Police. I watched the live stream of this Halloween party and the security was pretty sloppy. There wasn’t even anyone there to guide people like the Shibuya’s DJ police, so they all just trickled into this narrow alley, and that’s why this tragedy happened.
Really sad. Hope the local authorities can work smoothly with the embassy to make the repatriation of the remains easy for everyone involved.
“A woman in her 10s” sounds odd.
Greetings from korea
This is really sad news
But I hope it doesn’t get repeated again here nor Japan nor anywhere
I was in Shibuya during a new years event before covid. Completely the same situation and the police still let people into the crowd when everyone was actively being crushed and the only way to survive is to not fall down. Still have PTSD from it and been warning friends for years. Please do not go into uncontrolled crowds like that.
What was the cause of death? Cardiac arrest?
