Hey folks!
When i move within japan to a new prefecture i first have to unregister in my local city hall before i can register in the new one right? So lets say i already moved and dont want to travel all the way to my old city hall is it possible to unregister per email?

You can unregister by physical mail. Not email. Call your old city to check for procedure.
I never heard about email but I have heard using postal mail. Print out the form, fill it out, include revenue stamp, mail it to your old city and you should get the 転移届け (i think thats what its called) mailed back to you that you can turn into the new prefectural city hall
