sentence writting and the word sugar

so Im writting a sentence for the word sugar, 砂糖. And my sentence is going to be, 砂糖はおいし、しかし: it’s not good for your teeth.

I know teeth in japanese is 歯 but when I put it through DeepL it uses the ni particle, so I looked through my All About Particles book by Naoko Chino, but cannot seem to find the correct usage for に.

this is what it gave me, among other choices.
砂糖は歯によくありません.

  1. Firstly, it should be おいしい, not おいし.

As for the second bit, ___ に悪い / ___ によくない can be used to say that something is “bad for your ___”/“not good for your ___”. So you could say something like 「砂糖はおいしいけど、(歯に悪い/歯によくない)です」.

に is used in a lot of ways, so any text is not going to be likely to list them all. It’s easier to pick up some of the more specific ways it is used in the wild.
