Hi! Im a student living in Tokyo and am hoping to plan a trip to Miyazaki area of Kyushu island at the end of November for 5 days. I will not have a car and am noticing that many hikes/sights I’m hoping to experience (mount karakuni, the Nishiusuki district to name a few). Can anyone who has been to this area speak to the difficulty of travelling around/accessing hikes and nature without a car?

I went this summer to Miyazaki and tbh not having a car would’ve made it very difficult for me to get around, esp for the mountains/hiking areas.
If you don’t have a car then I’d suggest staying in the city, using the bus systems and/or try using taxis.
I’ve been around Miyazaki and while there’s public transport, you’re going to be waiting / travelling for a while just to get around relatively short distances.
That said, I’ve got a car, live in Kyushu, enjoy hiking, and have nothing particularly planned for end of November.
