Is it normal to get asked for your cash card for a new job opening?

I have been asked to present a photocopy of my cash card front/back as a requirement for a new job I applied as well as my bank book. Wondered why would they need my cash card, isn’t it a really personal thing? Can’t they like clone it?

  1. they will need it to do direct deposit of your paycheck.

they don’t really need the back of the cash card or anything other than the front page of the bank book but whatever just give it to them there’s nothing they can do with it other than send you money. both are useless without pin code and isn’t something easily (or possible at all) cloneable.

  2. Yes, it is much easier than locating the bankbook, as I already have the cash card within my grasp. Some of them even ask for both.

  3. It has your bank, bank branch, account number and name. They would need that information to deposit your salary into your bank account.

Ther is not really any other information on the cash card, so it’s totally safe to give the information to your employer.
