Language school AND cram school?

I’m loopking to go to ISI and try to get into their program for top university preps. I really wanna go to the University of Tokyo. The liaison I’m talking to said that students who get into universities like that go to cram school after their language classes. I was wondering if anyone could give more information about this? The language school is kinda unwilling to provide me with this info until after I actually am enrolled and going to classes at ISI. I’m curious as to how it goes with workload between language school homework and cram school homework. Also around what level of Japanese would I need to be to get into a cram school. Any info would help
