Paypay verifcation difficulty

Greetings,

Recently been making efforts to escape Yuucho bank and having to carry around cash/paying fees on doing anything with my own money.

Successfully opened a Sony account and am trying to get Paypay on my phone working.

So I can only verify using my JP drivers liscense, it goes through fine and completes. but still wont let me add/link any bank accounts to top up.

citing error
**本人確認情報に登録された氏名では口座を追加できません。**
本人確認情報に登録された氏名に不要なスペースや、氏名以外の文字が含まれていないことを確認し

Whilst i understand what it’s telling me, its unclear what its checking the entered information against to try and match.

looking at what has been entered already;
**Name (Kanji): \*LAST NAME\* \*FIRST NAME\* \*MIDDLE NAME\***

it does look like theres a weird space before the Last Name but it autofills from the drivers liscense and doesnt let me edit it at all.

**Name (Kana): Correct name order in katakana with JP input spaces between each.**

**Occapation: 契約社員 / 派遣社員**
**Address: Matches whats written on the drivers**

Anything else doesnt seem like it’d be the cause of the issue.
No idea what to do from here. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

  1. I’ve been having the same trouble and customer support was of no help at all.

  2. Oh I had this issue! It’s probably due to a katakana mismatch between your registered name on your bank account and the one on paypay

For clarity: while the bank has your real romaji name, there’s also a kana name that you registered. That one needs to match for these kinds of operations. You can sometimes find the kana name you registered with on your bank website.

If you have issues you should email paypay support. I did and they were very helpful in guiding me through this.

For filling in the name: when doing the 本人確認 on paypay do _not_ use the auto fill in stuff when submitting the documents. Instead register manually and type it all in. I did this with my My Number card, but you might have the same option for the drivers license

  3. Does your bank card name exactly match what you put in the form? I run into this problem all the time. Can’t sign up for some things because the form only takes kana and my bank card is in romanji, and it’s such a huge pain in the ass to correct this

Some other people have reported spaces in their katakana name as the problem

Four writing systems with furigana on top and they can’t get this right

  4. Thanks for the input thus far.

Some clarification;i have 2 bank accounts as of now. Yuucho and sonyYuucho name is: in Katakana with JP input spaces between***LAST NAME* *FIRST NAME* *MIDDLE NAME***

Sony name is: katakana with no space between first and middle name.

For the time being I have retried the reverification once more without the space matching Sony exactly but obviously yuucho is different/has the space.

Watching for the reverification to come back. If it bounced back again, I guess I might have to email support.

**EDIT: Removing the space** between the first and middle name seems to be the magic fix. Its allowing to me to continue through now. Despite my yuucho direct customer info having a space. *shrug*
