Hi I recently hit the milestone of hitting one year of studying Japanese, and I’m not looking to compare myself because I know everyone goes at their own pace, but how was your level of Japanese after about a year?
I’ll begin after only really reading and learning the type of Japanese you learn from a standard Genki textbook I feel I can converse with Japanese people to a limited extent, however I still lack many of the basic needs to be able to understand informal and everyday Japanese and what not.
