Hello all. I came to Japan 3 years ago with Spouse Visa and currently working with a traditional Japanese Company at Inaka area. Recently I renewed my Spouse Visa and got 5 years extended (rare I know). However, I am not happy with the Japanese Company and not so much job opportunities available at my wife hometown. Now, I have a chance to return to my ex-company ( which located at my home country actually) with the possibility of working both at my home country and at Japan with remote. As I need to support production occasionally, so not possible to 100% remote in Japan. The discussion with hiring manager is something like 6 months here and 6 months there. My contract will be a local contract at my home country.
My questions will be, could I maintain my Spouse Visa while working 6 months abroad and 6 months in Japan? I know I need to switch to National Nenkin and continue to pay taxes here in Japan right? If I give up my spouse visa, my maximum stay per visit will be limited to 90 days. And 180 days total per year as tourist visa. I am just exploring options and need advise. Thank you!

You’ve been married 3 years and have a >1 year length of stay on your residence status, so you’re eligible to apply for Permanent Residency.
