I love the phrases for “time stop” in Japanese!

“時よ止まれ!”
“Hey/Yo time, stop!”

This よ is old japanese, it was used as an exclamation after a subject (usually as 神よ)

“そして、時は動き出す!”
“And then, time starts moving (again)!”

I love how in one we are directly talking to time itself while in the other we are talking about it in general…

  1. To me it sounds like you’re talking about Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure. DIO says 「ザ・ワールド、時を止まれ!」 “The World, stop time!” In this context DIO is commanding his stand The World to stop time. When time flows again he said 「時は動き出す。」”time has started moving”.

  2. I can just imagine some japanese wizard in D&d casting the spell Time Stop

    Wiz: “Yo time, stop!”

    Rest of the party: 🤨

W: “What? Those are the vocal components! It’s right here in the book”
