Both are correct and both are used.
¥100 or 100円
円 is the standard but ¥ is used plenty as a design choice.
Both. One is the currency symbol and the other one is an actual word. It is like “$1” vs. “1 dollar”.
Depends on how much you like the look. Here in japan you will mostly see 円. But ¥ is used as well
$ vs Dollar, € vs Euro
You have the ye sign and the yen kanji, i would say you use the sign because no one understands it if they aren’t knowledgable in japanese
