Reccomendation for vegan-friendly doctors in Tokyo?

I went to Dr. Washio as recommended on this list ([https://isitveganjapan.com/vegan-friendly-doctors/](https://isitveganjapan.com/vegan-friendly-doctors/)) and got regular bloodwork done, my iron was incredibly low but she just shrugged and said ‘it’s hard when you’re vegan’. I went to a different doctor in a hospital for unrelated stomach issues, and he said my iron was critically low and put me on suppliments right away. Even though my iron level has gone up, my ability to absorb iron is incredibly low (he’s saying due to low protien intake, which sounds odd to me). While he’s trying to work with my veganism, he seems really convinced that they only way to fix the matter is to eat meat again, which really don’t want to do. I am exhaused all the time and really want to tackle the issue, but don’t know any doctors who might be more willing to help find a vegan solution to my issue. I don’t feel confident going back to Dr. Washio as they did not even seem concerned by the issue to begin with.

TL;DR: anyone recommend vegan doctors (not looking for alternative medicine) in Tokyo? Japanese or English language is okay.

  1. Wouldn’t that be a job for a ~~nutritionist~~ *dietician* rather than a general M.D.? You can probably find one willing to work with you online from any country of choice.

    Edit: corrected.

  2. Have they offered you an iron infusion? Iron supplements are notoriously poorly tolerated (very constipating, quite variable in how well they’re absorbed).

  3. Not sure, but you should email the site to get that doctor unlisted. Sounds very unfriendly to veganism.
