I have seen sofa recommendations from the sub but none of them mention having pets. I’m planning to buy a couch and I have two cats I need to consider.
Any pet owners here who have a sofa at home? And how did it go?
My son has had good luck so far with the Nitori sectional sofa. He has a very active terrier, who’s leaping up and down on it all the time, and it still looks great.
Well, give up any dreams of leather or faux leather.
And no mechanical footrests or reclining mechanism that they can get crushed in.
We got our sofas at Ikea. Cloth upholstery. There’s one corner the tortishell likes to tear up but we’ve long given up on keeping things pristine. I bought some very similar material and sewed a cover for that arm.
Our dyson powerhead gets the fur off pretty well.
We have two dogs. They can destroy anything. Don’t buy expensive furniture.
When our sofa and armchairs were completely destroyed by several generations of dogs and cats including puppies, we bought some robust cloth and I sewed new covers for them. And we have a bit of cloth left, so ~~if~~ when our current cats manage to destroy the cushions, I can fix them or make a couple of new ones.
