Hello,
I am deciding on renting a UR apartment for long term. At least 1 year.
I don’t see information about internet on the UR Housing pages and I’m not sure if they will have options for Fiber or not?
I am looking for fiber optic internet and I am looking for URs in Nishi kasai area.
Anyone living in UR apartments, how has your experience been with internet and has anyone tried for fiber? like Softbank’s Hikari?
Look at this for example [https://urjkkplus-housing.com/outline/156/](https://urjkkplus-housing.com/outline/156/)
Please share your experience, if any.
Also, I have heard nothing but bad reviews about “Softbank Air” and the likes. So, I’m avoiding that at all costs because fast & stable internet is most important for me.
Also, I am torn between Nishi Kasai and Katsushika Ward. Would be nice if anyone can share their experience/comparisons of these 2 areas.
About me:
1.) Single
2.) No pets.
3.) Not a party animal but don’t want to waste money on expensive crap.
If anyone can give some suggestions on either Katsushika Ward or Nishi kasahi based on this, please do.
Thanks

Yep, hardwired is the way to go. I was in an UR in Yokohama for a few years and only had access to 100Mbps mansion-type VDSL. Speedtested 55Mbps. It was stable at least.
I’m in a UR building on Odaiba in Minato-ku, Tokyo-to. I have NTT hikari fibre. When I moved in, it was ADSL only, but they upgraded a year later and it was an easy switch.
I use Asahi-net for internet, but there’s a list of English-speaking services here: https://www.sakuramobile.jp/internet-japan/best-internet-providers/#08
This is the complete official list of internet connectivity options in UR apartments, just look up the address: https://www.ur-net.go.jp/chintai_portal/kyojyusha/it/it.html
