Hi!
My girlfriend and I are travelling to Japan next summer, and are super excited 🙂
However we have some questions and concerns that we hope some of you can help us answer.
In particular we are a bit worried that we don’t have enough days in Osaka/Kyoto.
We have a lot of days in Hiroshima because we find that area and its history interesting.
As you can see we have 2 days where we are not sure where to spend them just yet.
I general we would like to see a lot of the “must-sees” in Japan, since this is our first time visiting Japan. However we are also interested in science, medicine and computer science, so maybe some of you know some cool places to visit for people who are interested in that kind of stuff?
I’m sorry if i miss any crucial information in this post, if that is the case, please feel free to ask me 🙂
Here are some of the things we would like to do:
* Shibuya Crossing
* Yoyogi Park
* Kyu Asakura House
* Tokyo Skytree
* teamLab Planets (not sure if this is still open?)
* Senso-ji
* Meiji Jingu
* Ghibli Museum (If one can order tickets next year)
* Shinjuku
* Fushimi Inari shrine
* Nanzen-ji Temple
* Kinkakuji temple
* Nishiki market
* Cup noodle museum
* Try a tattoo-friendly onsen
* Museums etc in Hiroshima & ÅŒkunoshima

Yeah too many days in Hiro. For simplicity and for the sake of now, definitely take off a day from Hiro and add it to Kyoto. Osaka for two days is fine, but that’s going to come down to you if you want another day.
You might consider a night or two in Kinosaki Onsen.

Or, from Tokyo, use those extra days to head to Kusatsu Onsen. It’s tattoo friendly too.

July is gonna be very, very, very hot and humid though.
teamLab Planets (not sure if this is still open?), yes it is util at lest end of 2023 and Borderless might be open by then, it will be in Toranomon Azabudai.
If you think you should put more time in Osaka/Kyoto, then… just put your two extra days there. Obviously it depend on what you are interested in, but Kyoto you can get a highlight of the major sights in 2-3 days, Osaka 1-2 days (+1 if you do USJ), then you can obviously add more if you want to do more than just the top locations.
