Hey hey!
Has anyone here tried out Mondly before? More specifically, their chatbot? I’ve searched the entirety of Reddit but can’t really find anyone asking about this. (Which probably isn’t a good sign, haha.)
I’ve been looking for a way to get the basic idea of how a text conversation in Japanese would go and be able to add some common vocabulary into my system as a supplement before… actually diving into a language exchange app. I use WaniKani, Bunpro, KameSame, みんなの日本語 and SRS flashcards every day, but these don’t exactly go into common expressions and casual conversation topics at my level.
Albeit a bit formal and maybe strange, the Mondly chatbot looks sort of exactly what I’ve been looking for in terms of foundational steps for confidence. I’m thinking about jumping right ahead and getting a 12 month subscription (since it’s on a big discount) and giving it a go—but that’s still a lot of money and I would love to hear other thoughts, or if there are better ways to go about this that I haven’t heard about yet.
The very first introductory chatbot session looks like [this.](https://imgur.com/a/aoIyh25) Cheers!
