Hey everyone! I am aware that this question has been asked a lot of times already, but I still have difficulty answering it for myself. In earlier threads people talked mostly about the cities, rather than the universities themselves. This week I’m applying for exchange spots abroad, and I cannot make up my mind whether to put University of Tokyo, Kyoto University or Osaka University as my first choice.
I had my mind set on Tokyo University as its Japan’s number 1 university, but then I heard that in Kyoto there’s not too much exams for exchange students (mostly deadlines). For Osaka there weren’t any student reports available. I do want to be able to make the most of my time there, so it would he absolutely amazing if you could tell me some more about the universities and their workload (rather than only the cities they’re located in)!
Other things that may be important:
• I am in economics and my home university requires me to follow at least half of my exchange courses in this field, as for the others I would like to learn more about Asian/Japanese politics, culture and literature
• Another university I am interested in is Hitotsubashi University, which will be my third choice (as I am certain to get a spot there)
• Since I will be living in dorms provided by the university, I do not think making friends will pose too big of an issue
If any of you have experience studying at any of these universities, please let me know 🙂
