is it okay if my kanji writing looks “messy”?

hi!! i’ve been learning japanese for about 10 years (a mixture of in-school and self-taught), and i’m currently memorising N5-N4 kanji. my characters look super messy and childlike. they are legible as far as i can tell, but it’s just. messy. should i spend more time teaching myself to write the characters neatly?? or does it not matter as long as you can read it? thank you! 💓

  1. I’d say you should invest some time into writing them a little bit neater it’s worth it imo

  2. Of course it’s alright. Just as long as you can tell what kanji is what. Since it’s like writing in your native language. People inevitably has different handwriting and not one people will have the same hand writing. So I wouldn’t worry that much about trying to have neat handwriting
