I’m on HelloTalk. I have never interacted with this person except for sending hand sticker to wave at each other 👋
He sent the following messages:
Him: 初めまして
Him again: (His name)、と言います。よろしくね
They were two messages I had not responded to. What do I say?
Say よろしくね too?
Or go こちらこそ?
Should I be saying 初めまして just like him and go よろしくね?
>(His name)、と言います。
is he messing with me? Is this a joke I’m not getting? Lol I’m so overthinking this.

Yeah you’re overthinking this. For example If they start and say 初めまして then you say こちらこそ and then introduce yourself. Don’t second guess yourself too much, you’ll pick up the patterns eventually
go with your gut and see what happens. although if he said よろしくね then i wouldnt respond with the exact same thing. Maybe switch it up and throw a よろぴくど~す to him.
