Fuji Rock 1-day only (Sun) – some questions

Hey!

I moved to Japan a couple of months ago and just discovered Fuji Rock Festival while randomly looking if some bands I like would have a concert here. At first I was planning on going all out and buying a 3-day ticket + camping site but decided against it due to cost and never having camped before. Based on what I’ve read about the location and the weather forecast it seems like I would set myself up for 3 miserable days just so that I can see Vampire Weekend. All the other acts I’m interested in are playing on Sunday.

My current plan is therefore to buy a Sunday ticket, take the Shinkansen Sunday morning and then pull an all-nighter (saw this tips on another thread) and take the shuttle bus back Monday morning. I have some questions though:

\- How free are you to bring your own food? Do they allow it?

\- What are usually the prices of food at the stalls?

\- How miserable will I be if I walk around in high-top converse?

\- Do they allow folding chairs? The FAQ on the site had a confusing answer.

\- Where can I buy a cheap folding chair (mega don quixote perhaps)?

\- Also, while I think it can be fun to go alone it would be fun to meet others. Is there any meetups happening or other solo travelers who are looking for a bit of company?

\- “While it is permitted to bring and use cameras at the festival, photographing, filming and recording of performing artists is not allowed.” So no photographing of artists at all even if you’re standing quite far away?

(The artists I’m planning on seeing are: Elephant Gym, Superorganism, and Mogwai)

Thank you in advance!

Pretty sure it’s ok to bring snacks and picknick type food. No alcoholic beverages though.

Not so cheap. But it won’t bankrupt you in a day. A couple of thousand yen for the day.

Since it’s only one day, you’ll probably be fine. Expect to walk a lot though.

It’s allowed. But you can’t take up too much space, and you can’t use them to reserve seats. Some areas are prohibited.

Yeah, Donki or a home center

  2. If you’re looking for a fellow solo traveler I’ll be around all weekend!
