Howdy. I’ve read that schools are closing in various areas. Osaka for one, but haven’t heard anything about Tokyo. Anyone heard anything? Wondering what my BOE is planning to do and my company does not do transparency very well.
Specifically Machida area.
Thanks!

That’s news to me. We talking elementary, JHS, SHS? Public/private? I’ll ask around if my JTEs have heard anything today.
Are you inquiring as a teacher or as a parent? Our child’s school (in Setagaya) is continuing as what has passed for normal over the last two years.
The schools where I teach (all in Tokyo) also have not yet changed any of the plans with regard to teaching/meeting styles.
Nope, currently working in Tokyo and one of my kids just got the new variant and classes are still being held. Companies still send us to school which aren’t our usual schools with no worries if we get the virus there and we still can’t get our paid leave if we don’t apply a month in advance even if it’s health related.
Some cities post regular updates on infection status on their websites and social media.
Look at Machida City’s BoE page.
