Hi Guys, I’m flying off to Osaka on next Feb 25th till March 4th. Will be travelling with my partner and our 7yo daughter. We had never been to any parts of Japan before, the furthest we travelled recently is only to Seoul.
My flight is scheduled to land at Kansai International Airport at 9:10PM, I hope I can make it to catch the express train to Osaka.
I have yet to make any fix itinerary yet as I’m still gathering some info on places to see & visit in Osaka, Kyoto & Nara. Below are the very rough plan on where I’m planning to stay & visit. I’ll greatly appreciate any advice on how to plan my itinerary.
Day 1(25/02) – Day 4(28/02) Osaka
* Osaka Castle
* Dotonbori
* Osaka Aquarium
* Shinsekai
Day 5(01/03) – Day 8(04/03) Kyoto
* Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine
* Arashiyama bamboo forest
* Kinkakuji
* Nara Park & Todaiji Temple (Day trip from Kyoto)
* Gion

Your Osaka portion could be shaved to 2 days, and the Kyoto portion should have 2 days added. Kyoto doesn’t have great public transit and all the places you listed are spread out and require a ton of walking and early AM start times. I don’t care for Kyoto much, but it’s best to have more time there if you go.
