While nothing could touch Naito/Ospreay for MOTN (MOTY?), FTR v. Cobb/O-Khan was terrific: big match feel, pitch-perfect psychology. The reverence FTR hold for the IWGP belts and finally getting to perform in front of Japanese fans was palpable, and the fans in attendance responded in kind.

  1. Personally I’m pretty fuckin unhappy that AEW have sent them to Japan exactly one time since Forbidden Door, and they aren’t going to be in WTL either. It’s not like they’re working Strong regularly either. And for what? God forbid they miss a run-in on Dynamite.

  2. I thought it was a solid match, but they spent way too much time on Dax being beat up & trying to tag Cash (I know it’s classic tag psychology, but they play it up so much I know nothing matters until that hot tag is made).

And, although it got better throughout, it was hurt by the crowd not knowing/reacting to FTR. Almost like putting titles on two guys who don’t work in your promotion/country was a bad idea.
