Kind of a random question, but I was bored and scrolling over Tokyo through Google Maps satellite view. I noticed that a lot of high schools have the school name painted on the rooftop in yellow text on green squares. Unfortunately I can’t attach pictures, but if you go to satellite view and search up high schools, you can see what I’m talking about. Is this standardized by law or something? It’s interesting because only people who view the building from an aerial viewpoint can see the name.

Probably for air rescue in case of a disaster as school are usually rally points for citizen?
