Hello, i want to be able to read Japanese. I want to understand it well enough to be translate it from Japanese to english and vice versa (for personal reasons). The problem is i have such a hard writing in Japanese. I lose all motivation when I try to write. Is there anythingI can do? I don’t want to give up on learning Japanese.

Yeah, don’t write – read. Open textbooks and websites and read as much as possible: you’ll eventually memorise the characters.
[This website](https://tadoku.org/japanese/free-books/#l0) is a great place to start.
If you have an Android phone, I recommend the Kanji Study app. It has writing challenges so you learn to properly write the Kanji, which also helps with recognition and reading. And there are readings, multiple choice quizzes, etc. It’s my favorite study tool. There are in-app purchases, but I personally think they’re worth it.
Learning to read and learning to write are two almost entirely separate skills. According to a survey about 50% of the whole Japanese learning community never learned to handwrite and they are doing fine. If you don’t want to handwrite, don’t learn to handwrite. Just learn to read.
I’ve found that practicing the characters gave me confidence even if I knew they looked awful. I started enjoying writing with this channel- https://youtube.com/c/takumitohgu
