Looking for people who study/studied at Kanazawa University

Hey guys

In september I should be going to Japan to attend Kanazawa University Exchange Program through my own uni. I’m googling information about it but it seems a bit generic and official and I would like to have some thoughts from people who have experience being there. Just a few questions that I had especially regarding the university dorms. I was hoping for some pics of the international houses and sakegake but the ones on the website are pretty unclear. I know it’s a unit with rooms for a group of 6-8 people but is there enough privacy? Is there an opportunity to rent a bike there because google maps says that the center of the city is quite ride from the university campus, where is the “center” anyway where everything goes down (nightlife, bars, places to hang out, ..). The website says that an average of 900$ is needed per month to live there, is this an exaguration or is this legit?

It’s been a long time since I lived in Kanazawa but when I was living there a bicycle was essential. You’ll want to buy a cheap bike rather than try to rent one each time you want to use one.

How long will you be there for? September is still super hot, but by December the place will be covered in snow. So if you’re there for more than a few months you’ll definitely need to have a range of clothing options.

Not sure what page you’re looking at, just the Kanazawa University housing page shows a bunch of housing options for around 30-40k yen/month. If you are okay with cooking etc, food would be around 10-20k per month. So it would definitely be less than $900. 120k would definitely be over average for students.
