Arabic school recommendation in the Kanto area?

I would like to take classical Arabic class but I can’t find any school… Do you know where I could learn Arabic? Or any good Arabic grammar book adapted for full beginners on Amazon? Thanks!

  1. Have you tried contacting your local Mosque? Best place I can think of where Arabic would be something they should have at least a passing knowledge of.

  2. [ICC](http://icc-net.jp/english/corse/arabic.html) is a good place to start with legit certified native teachers. Their website is absolute garbage, but then again this is Japan.

A local mosque is a great place too, the bigger the more professional it is. However, it’s a gamble when it comes to the teacher. Some are great and stick to teaching/sharing culture and answering your questions, others think that you’re interested because you want to/may convert so there is that. Tokyo Camii is the biggest mosque in Tokyo and the lecturers there are professional and fluent in Japanese, give them a call and ask about the available courses.

Italki is your best bet, you can pay a bit more per lesson and get a legit certified online teacher or opt out for a less expensive option and go with a community teacher, not certified but they can also be really good.

As a beginner, you just need a decent teacher with a solid beginner’s program to build a good foundation, then the rest depends on what you want to do with the language. PM me if you have further questions, native Arabic speaker here.
