Kiso Valley+Takayama+Nagano/Shibu Onsen Advice – Early January 2023

Hi there,

In the tail end of my trip to japan, my boyfriend and I are hoping to do some winter snow/mountain exploring! I am looking for some advice on this itinerary, and whether it is too rushed. Should I scrap Shibu Onsen? Is there anywhere convenient to Takayama that has amazing skiing? Is the Kiso valley worth it in winter? (We love hiking/forests but are from Canada and used to snow)
