What are the most stunning autumn foliage vistas in Japan? Give us your tips and pics!

Today’s question is: What are the most stunning autumn foliage vistas in Japan?

Autumn foliage season draws arguably the biggest domestic crowds outside Hanami season and summer fireworks. What is the best place to see stunning vistas? Are you partial to Matsushima Bay? Momiji tunnel in Kawaguchiko? Foliage light-up at one of Kyoto’s temples?

Pics are highly encourage in this thread (provided you link directly to them).

  1. Korankei in Toyota, Aichi is seriously underrated. I personally preferred it to Arashiyama. It’s a hassle to get to by public transport, but if you go on a weekday, it’s just busy enough to be lively while not being too crowded.
