Hey all! I’d love some recommendations with regard to my upcoming trip – How should we plan the route? we will be arriving and departing via Narita both ways.
10 Days from 6 Apr to 16 Apr 2023 –
main things we’d like to see:
• Shinjuku / Shibuya / Harajuku / Tsukiji / Ueno basically the main attractions & streets of Tokyo – we’ll skip the palaces, castles, Odaiba. the only pieces of history we’d like to visit are on WW2!
• Snow monkeys at Nagano
• Nara deer park
• Hiroshima for its rich WW2 history, Rabbit Island
• We are skipping Mt Fuji as we’ve visited it.
• Anywhere we could slot a Bamboo grove in?
• Cherry blossoms!!!!!!!
My husband & I are interested in WW2 history, and my lil girl loves interacting with animals so I guess these would make our main itinerary. Of course, lots of good food (we eat EVERYTHING)!
Other questions
• I vaguely recall a street near Ueno (i may be wrong on this) that has many smaller stalls selling sashimi rice bowls at an affordable price. or is this available everywhere in Japan?
• Any tips on travelling with bubs? Should I baby wear her throughout?
• How do we best get around the country? Is JR the best way? I understand the other train line requires another ticket cost too?
thank you in advance!
