Permission to Engage in Other Activities Question

I have a professor visa, but I would like to get some side work as an instructor at an elementary school.

If I apply for permission to engage in other activities, will this change the nature of my Professor visa at all (as in disallowing me to work at a university), or will my visa still read “Professor”, but I’ll simply be allowed to also work as an elementary school teacher once I find a part-time job?

Thank you.

  1. It will not change the nature of your visa.

However, you are not entitled to blanket permission. You need a specific permission, which mean you need to specify what and with whom you are working with in order to get the permission.

  2. No, it doesn’t, but the permission you get is limited to that specific employer only. It doesn’t take time to receive it, but you will need a contract/letter from your employer specifying what you will be doing, your work schedule so they make sure it doesn’t exceed the number of hours and that it isn’t affecting your real job. Those were the only documents I was asked to provide, all hankod ofcourse by the company and clearly issued to you so your name has to be on it, not a template. took a week to receive it.
