Hi everyone, I’d need some advice. I’m in Kyoto with a student visa since April, and I’ll probably have the chance to get a job and get working visa, the thing is that the job is lowly paid and not very good conditions.
However I feel likw I’m wasting my money at language school so I’m thinking about accepting this job.
My question is: even shortly after starting this job, if I found a better one, could I resign and change jobs without any problems with the working visa? Or should I wait and work in this job for some time? I dont know if I’m explaining myself…hope someone can give me some advise.

Technically you won’t have any problems, although future employers and immigration at the time of renewal might scrutinize you extra.
If you get a work visa, that visa is yours. It’s not tied to the company. You can quit and work for another company as long as the new job is considered under the same category.
Keep this in mind, because many companies try to scare employees by lying to them and telling them they will lose the visa if they quit, etc.
I say go for it. If you’re just worrying about visa, as long as the new job is somewhat similar in industry/job description, and you definitely sure you can work under the same working visa (humanities/engineer I assume), you can change job at your liking. Just remember to send immigration a notice of change of employer, and you’re good until your current visa lasts.
Now, would resigning early gives a slightly bad impression to the new employer when you’re interviewing is another matter. But as long as your reason is solid, and you can prove that you’re fit for the new job, you should be fine. Good luck.
