Is there a bearing to being an inviter to multiple person applying for visa?

Japan has finally opened its borders to tourists, but sadly, my country needs a visa to be able to come here.

My family and friends were planning their trips and asked me if I could be an inviter for them here to be able to apply for “Visiting friends” (“Visiting relatives” for my family ofc) so that they can stay for more than 15 days, to which I agreed. So I sent them my juuminhyou and residence card for the visa application.

The visa application results is as follows:

1. Friend #1 (earliest to apply) – approved
2. Family – denied
3. Friend #2 – denied
4. Friend #3 – still processing

Since the embassy doesn’t state reasons on why you failed, my question is does anyone else have an experience of inviting multiple person applying for visa that has succeeded? I figure that next time they should all just go the tourist route application which will limit their stay to 15 days but better than being rejected..

  1. For relatives/family, you need to prove your blood relationship through a birth certificate (with parental names attached) or marriage cert. Then for your friends, you need documentation like photos or emails to prove you’re actually friends.

    Did you include these docs?
