A question about the を particle

While doing Anki cards, I came across this sentence:

彼女はいつも私の右側**を**歩きます

I have absolutely no why the を particle is used, and not に. I suppose you folks might be able to help me out. Thanks

  1. を can indicate an area of movement passing through. Like walking along a path or river, or in your example, she always walks on your right. Putting に there instead makes it sound like she always walks to your side then stops once she gets there.

Disclaimer: I’m a learner too, I may get things wrong.
